Because sambal gives that spicy and peppy taste to every meal. So if you want to spice up your life, add some Sambal Oelek.
It contains red chili peppers and salt. ‘Oelek’ is the morter and pestle that is used to mash everything together.
Because it is not fried it has a very spicy taste. (Where Sambal Badjak uses fried peppers and onions which make the flavor milder.)
So if you prefer a ‘hefty tongue’, take Sambal Oelek.
